Neighborhood Block Party Information
A strong neighborhood is the backbone of a strong city and neighborhood block parties are a great way to build strong ties with your neighbors.
To obtain the required no-cost permit for your block party, complete the form below.
You can also request the Block Party Trailer.
The trailer contains everything you need to set the stage for a great Block Party! It is free for all registered Neighborhood Associations, HOA's and Crime Watches in the City of Rowlett. Not sure if you are a registered Association? Call the Neighborhood Life Office to verify your registration or to get your Neighborhood registered today!
The Block Party Trailer (affectionately known as the BPT) is crammed full of the "stuff" you need:
- 8 light weight picnic tables
- 50 light weight chairs
- Water cooler
- 2 ice chests
- Street barricades
- Street cones
- Lawn Games
Ready to plan your party?
It's easy and free! Just complete the form below and submit it to the Neighborhood Life Office at least 10 working days notice prior to your event. If you need street closures, plan at least a month in advance! Closing streets does require the signature of all affected properties and Public Safety notification, so give yourself plenty of time. You can also reach us at (972) 412-6165 if you have any questions!
Block Party Permit and BPT Request
How Does It Work?
After your permit is issued, the Neighborhood Life Office will confirm your date and notify the appropriate departments. If you have requested the BPT, we will schedule a drop off time with an adult over the age of 18. Usually the trailer will be dropped off on the Friday afternoon and will be retrieved on the following Monday. Want to have a party on a Thursday? No problem! We will work together so you can have a great event.
