Accident Reports- State Crash Forms are used for accidents involving any type of injury and/or damages resulting in at least $1,000. State Crash Forms are kept by the Department of Public Safety in Austin. State Crash Reports cost $6.00 to obtain. If you are seeking a copy of a Texas State Crash Report, you may download, or request by mail, a copy of a crash report by referring to the eCrash website. You may also download and complete the request form (PDF) and bring it in person to the Rowlett Police Department Records Unit, anytime between 8am -5pm, Monday - Friday, excluding holidays.
Offense and Incident supplemental stolen property reports may be obtained by downloading a copy online, contacting the Rowlett Police Department Records Section, in person at 4401 Rowlett Road, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, or by mail. Fingerprinting is available to the general public on the following dates and times: Tuesday and Thursday, 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
The Texas Department of Transportation provides guidelines to the wrecker service companies regarding release of vehicles. This is not controlled by the City of Rowlett Police Department. To obtain your vehicle, you must contact the appropriate wrecker storage company and pay the impound/storage fees accrued.
If your vehicle has been impounded as evidence in a criminal action, or a law enforcement HOLD has been placed on the vehicle, you should contact the City of Rowlett Police Department Criminal Investigation Division between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday.
