Spring is here, and so is our Local Farmers Market. Experience Rowlett's weekly Farmers Market to get you ready for the weekend. Visit with local vendors while shopping for produce, flowers, meats, honey, eggs, and more! We are going to have a farmers AND crafts market (every other Thursday) where local artists will offer their handmade crafts.
No Storytime on May 31
A 20-minute lapsit storytime featuring developmentally appropriate board books, rhymes, and movement encouraging early literacy for infants up to 18 months. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. If children can walk steadily, then we suggest Family Storytime.
Books and Bricks (Tuesdays) Use toy building bricks to complete different challenges based on books. This program is for school age students 10-18. No Clubs on May 31st.
For children of all ages who can actively engage. This interactive storytime with books, music, and movement is a high engagement storytime that instills the love of literacy and the Library at an early age. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. While all ages are welcome, we will focus on pre-literacy skills. Thursday is a repeat of Wednesday’s program.
Learn the fundamentals of Excel to become better at using spreadsheets.
Participants explore the wide world through reading, STEM, and innovation. This program is for elementary age students.
Library Will Be Closed for Memorial Day
Members of the community will gather on Saturday, May 28, to pay their respects to our fallen soldiers. There will be a ceremony dedicated to those soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
The benefits of B-I-N-G-O. Yes, the benefits of B-I-N-G-O…promotes eye coordination, helps with cognitive skills, boosts brain health and memory skills, gives energy, introduces you to new friends all while having FUN! Join us on Tuesdays at 8:30am in Classroom D, for some “exercise” called Bingo.

Chair volleyball is a physical activity that provides a fun way to be active, it more fun than you can possibly stand! Because players are required to remain seated, chair volleyball allows those with physical limitations to participate on a level playing field with those who may be more active. Regular participation in this activity can increase flexibility and stamina.
Learn basic tap dance steps that any tap enthusiast can do. Participants do not need tap shoes but hard sole shoes are recommended. This program will provide participants rhythm, coordination, and mental fitness and fun!
